interface : every (access)

This visualization is both a low resolution pictorial representation of the whole Web, and a clickable image-map linking to all the Web sites whose address is in the database (186,110 sites in the 1999 database and 185,281 in the 2001/2002 database).

The image is composed of pixels each representing one Web site address stored in the IP database. The location of a pixel is determined by the IP address it represents. The lower the number the further up on the picture. 0.0.0.0 would be represented in the top left corner, 255.255.255 in the lower right.

The color of a pixel in the "every :access" interface is determined by the response the crawler got from the Web server. (The response might be the same when you try to access the server.)
