sculpting with bees

On our class trip to coal oil point, I unexpectedly met a representative from the UCSB Bee Keeping Club. What if bees could be outsider artists? Some of my own sculptural work is about surface. So I thought what if I covered some of my sculptures in honey and handed them over to the bees. The bees would then alter the surface as they like and the I would retrieve the sculptures. I have contacted the bee keeping club to discuss logistics if it would harm the bees ect.
